JON THORP
INDEPENDENT FOR CONGRESS
tenNEssee 7th district
Everything is not fine

Same Parties, Same Results
Everywhere you look, people are frustrated, anxious, and tired of pretending the system still works.
We keep being told to pick a side — as if that is fixing anything.
The truth? America’s future doesn’t belong to Republicans or Democrats.
It belongs to hard working Americans.

I’m running for Congress because I refuse to stand by while the American Dream slips away.
I’m Jon Thorp, a proud Tennessean, father, pilot, and U.S. Army veteran. I never set out to run for office, but watching our country sink deeper into division, dysfunction, and debt made it clear that silence wasn’t an option.
Washington isn’t broken because the wrong party is in charge. It’s broken because the people who were supposed to protect the system are now the ones exploiting it. We need Americans who are willing to step up, tell the truth, do the work, and step aside when the job is done.
the issues that matter
Restoring Accountability in Government
Term limits. election reform. real transparency.
Washington’s corruption won’t fix itself. It is built to protect career politicians and special interests. I won't play the insiders game and I will rally support for congressional term limits, strict lobbying transparency, and campaign finance reforms. It’s time to rebuild a system of government that serves the people.
Economic Prosperity & American Renewal
Balance the budget. Empower small business. End waste.
America’s economy should reward work, not waste. I’ll fight for a balanced federal budget, lower and simpler taxes, and incentives that help small businesses grow instead of drowning in red tape. Prosperity starts when Tennessee families keep more of what they earn and local businesses can compete on a fair playing field.
Defend Individual Liberty
Protect Constitutional rights. End government overreach.
Freedom means the same rules apply to everyone without exceptions for power or privilege. I’ll defend every American’s right to speak, worship, and live freely, safeguard privacy from surveillance, and stand firm for the Second Amendment. The government’s job isn’t to control your choices, it’s to protect your rights.
A Strong, Independent America
End foreign meddling. bring our troops home. Strengthen Trade.
Decades of endless wars and foreign dependence have drained our strength. It’s time to focus on America again: secure our borders, end open-ended conflicts, and rebuild alliances through fair trade, not foreign aid. When America leads by example instead of occupation, we stay strong, safe, and free.
